龙是一种想象中的动物，
lóng shì yì zhǒng xiǎng xiàng zhōng de dòng wù ，
在中国人的心目中，
zài zhōng guó rén de xīn mù zhōng ，
它可以在天上飞，也可以在水里游，
tā kě yǐ zài tiān shàng fēi ，yě kě yǐ zài shuǐ lǐ yóu ，
可以喷水喷火，无所不能。
kě yǐ pēn shuǐ pēn huǒ ， wú suǒ bù néng 。
它一直是古老中华民族的崇拜物，
tā yì zhí shì gǔ lǎo zhōng huá mín zú de chóng bài wù ，
代表着吉祥和力量。
dài biǎo zhe jí xiáng hé lì liàng 。
同时，它又是帝王的象征，
tóng shí ，tā yòu shì dì wáng de xiàng zhēng ，
代表着神圣和威严。
dài biǎo zhe shén shèng hé wēi yán 。
可是，一些外国朋友告诉我，
kě shì ， yì xiē wài guó péng yǒu gào sù wǒ ，
“龙”在西方是一种恶兽，代表邪恶，
“ lóng ” zài xī fāng shì yì zhǒng è shòu ， dài biǎo xié è ，
在西方神话故事中，
zài xī fāng shén huà gù shì zhōng ，
有许多英雄斩杀恶龙的情节。

English Translation
Chinese long is an imaginary animal which could fly high into the sky and swim deep into the ocean. It is omnipotent in the sky and on the earth to Chinese. As a totem created by Chinese forefathers, it represents auspiciousness and strength. At the same time, it is an exclusive symbol of Chinese emperors, it represents sacred and stateliness. However, some foreigners told me that dragon (the English translation of Chinese long ) is a vicious and ferocious animal.
